HOW TO CLEAN A RUBBER STAMP

If you've never considered keeping your stamp clean between use, you're definitely not alone. While it's not absolutely crucial, we would definitely recommend keeping your stamp clean to avoid any build-up of dust or dirt which might affect the impression of your stamp and wear away at the rubber over time.

Keeping your rubber stamp clean also makes the stamping process easier. It means it's easier to see where you have applied ink to your stamp, helping you to avoid over-inking and smudging. Of course, keeping the stamp clean also means it's easier to switch ink pad colours without accidentally transferring black ink onto your nice white ink pad!

What you'll need:
  • Scrap piece of paper or fabric
  • Baby wipes, wet wipes or a damp cloth.
Step One

Once you have finished stamping, get rid of any excess ink by dabbing your stamp onto a scrap piece of paper or other material.

Step Two

Lightly sweep over your stamp with a wet wipe to get rid of the remaining ink. There is no need to apply too much pressure here.

If you are stamping a lot in one sitting, it's not necessary to clean your stamp between every impression, unless you prefer to. Just keep an eye on the ink build-up on the rubber and give it a wipe between every few impressions to keep your stamping crisp and clear.
